Hockey (Ladies)
Southampton University Ladies Hockey Club, (also known as Wessex), fields a variety of teams welcoming all abilities. This includes four teams in BUCS leagues (British University and College Sport) with our 1XI in the South Premier League, five teams in the local Hampshire league, plus a development team, one mixed team and one indoor team in Hampshire league. The club prides itself on being one of the largest, most successful and socially active within the University Athletic Union. This year, we've introduced an additional team specifically designed for newcomers to hockey. Southampton University Ladies Hockey Club are highly active off the turf with a vast range of socials and formal balls including joint events held with the Mens Hockey Club and regular tours both UK-based and overseas.

We have 4 BUCS teams playing other universities on Wednesdays, our 1XI playing in the South Premier League, and 5 teams playing in local Hampshire leagues on Saturdays. We have recently introduced a 6s team for those new to the sport who want to give it a try. We are one of the biggest & best clubs offering a high standard for competitive players but also a welcoming environment for those new to the sport, and those who would prefer to stick to the side-lines.
The variety in team hockey ability means there is space for all abilities, and we offer a range of fitness sessions to supplement hockey matches including use of the university pool and gym.

In Term 2, Ladies 1-4 training times change to 22:00-20:00
