Do you have an interest in writing? Do you want to see your work published in a print magazine? Do you want to get involved in student journalism? Join the University of Southampton's oldest student magazine at Below Deck in the first of our Make a Magazine 'Give it a Go' sessions. In this workshop we intend write the articles for our October edition of Wessex Scene. We will begin by drafting up titles for the articles, and then either individually or in groups start writing them up. In the session we aim to write as much content as possible. However, there will be time to finish them up following the session with a deadline of the 02/10/25, after which your work will be taken to Winchester School of Art to be designed into beautiful A5 magazines in the design edition of our second Make a Magazine session! Following this, our committee will edit, market, and publish the work. Anyone who attends the session will of course receive the finished product once printed, as well as see them distributed across Highfield, Avenue and WSA.

Wessex Scene is the official student publication of the University of Southampton. We cover a huge range of topics, and any student here is welcome to write or illustrate for us. Membership is also free!
